The National Stud, Newmarket

The National Stud, Newmarket offers a unique opportunity to see behind the scenes of one of the most beautiful stud farms in the country.
What you see during your visit will depend on the season but can include the superb Stallion Unit along with the stallions in residence, nursery yards and mares and foals in their paddocks.
The National Stud is located 2 miles south west of Newmarket town centre, next to the July Racecourse, just off the "rearing stallion" roundabout linking the A11 and A14.
When To Come And Visit
Guided Tours are:- Twice Daily at 11.15am and 2pm from March to October
- October Half Term at 11.15am
- All Newmarket Racecourses Autumn Race days
- On Newmarket Nights an additional tour is available at 4pm.
- Groups are welcome at other times by prior arrangement
- Personal Private Tours are available by prior arrangement
 - During the season the Wavertree's Coffee and Gift shop is open from 9.30am - 4.30pm (7 days a week)
- Out of season we are delighted to see visitors Wednesday - Sunday, 11am till 3pm

The National Stud - Points Of Interest
- Tours last for 75 minutes and they take place both on coach and on foot
- Visit the popular Miniature Shetland Ponies before you start your tour
- Visit the Stallion Unit - the home of top quality sires including Bahamian Bounty, Cockney Rebel, Pastoral Pursuits, Phoenix Reach and Val Royal
- Visit the Foaling Unit, Nursery Yards and Paddocks
- You can pick up further background information at the Weatherbys Pavilion
- Enjoy some refreshments at Wavertree's Coffee And Gift Shop
- Open 9.30am to 4.30pm 7 days a week, during the tour season.
- Open Wed. to Sat. out of season (11am - 3pm)
- Breakfast, Lunch and Teas available
- Birthday parties and other occasions can be celebrated in the Coffee Shop
